What we do
A small, hands-on shop where you know exactly who's doing the work. Steel, stainless and aluminum, one piece or a short run, with no minimums on custom work.
Aluminum is a specialty: pontoons, boat lifts, props and outboard lower units, plus cast aluminum parts most shops turn away.
Frame and tongue repair, couplers, axles and bearings, custom fenders, dovetail conversions and custom-built trailers in steel or aluminum.
Rusted-through floor pans formed and welded in heavy-gauge steel, exhaust work, running boards, hitches, receivers and RV bumpers.
Tanks, covers, brackets, hitch inserts and lifting fixtures. Bring a part, a sketch or a paper template and we'll build it or duplicate it.
Ornamental fencing new and repaired, handrails, gate latches and steel gates, built in the shop or fixed on site.
Snow plows and blowers, mower decks, patio furniture, restaurant equipment, bikes and exercise gear. If it's metal and broken, call us.
Materials
From thin aluminum sheet to heavy plate and old cast parts. Not sure if it can be welded? Bring it in and we'll tell you straight, even if a weld isn't the answer.
Weekend project and short on time? Order steel, aluminum or stainless cut to length, with holes, bending or welding if you need it.
Can't bring it in?
The trailer rig comes to your gate, railing, dock or equipment. We've welded on site from lifts and installed custom work at homes and businesses across Fort Wayne and the surrounding area.

Reviews
“Very good quality work and fair prices. Dean was honest on the expected timeline and price of the job I had done. Excellent example of how a small business like this should be ran… Plus you know exactly who is doing the welding/repairs which makes it a much more personable experience.”
“We had a large gate on our historic home that the latch was broken on. Dean and Chelsea came out within a week of me calling and replaced and reworked the whole latch. It is amazing!… Great people and company with fair prices. Highly recommend.”
“I wanted my cheap OEM bumper beefed up on my 5th Wheel so that I could safely haul bikes/kayaks and they definitely did that! New heavier bumper with 2" receiver… Dean and his team were super friendly and kept me up to date throughout the project.”
“Took my power washer in and they told me a weld probably wouldn't be the answer and they suggested replacing the pump. I'm sure they saved me time and money… Employees are friendly and courteous!”
“Wow, best welding shop ever. Dean, very nice owner and professional. Prices very reasonable.”
About the shop
Northeast Welding has been fixing, building and modifying metal on St. Joe Center Road for nearly six decades. It's a small shop on purpose. Dean, Chelsea and the crew handle the work themselves, so the person you talk to is the person who welds it.
We take the big jobs and the small ones: material-handling equipment and custom trailers, and also the patio chair, the bike frame and the bar stool. Walk-ins are welcome during shop hours, and the portable rig covers jobs that can't come to us.
